TV Answer Man, is tonight’s YouTube TV and YouTube broadcast of the Chiefs-Chargers game going to be provided in 4K/UHD? Microsoft Copilot (which is often wrong) says it will be. – Dennis, Incline Village, Nevada.
Dennis, YouTube tonight (September 5) will offer an exclusive (but free) stream of the Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Chargers game from São Paulo, Brazil at 8 p.m. ET.
Microsoft’s Copilot says that the game will be available in 4K on YouTube TV. But, surprise, surprise, Artificial Intelligence is wrong. The game will not be in 4K, upscaled or otherwise. (To their credit, Google’s AI and X’s Grok got this right, noting there’s no indication that the game will be in 4K.)
YouTube does plan to offer the matchup in 1080p HD which is the highest form of high-def there is. But no 4K, I’m afraid.
By the way, to watch the game tonight, you download the YouTube app and then search for NFL if the game window isn’t already visible on your home page (which it probably will be). I would stream in on Friday around 7 p.m. ET to make sure you have everything set up before kickoff. (But that’s me. I tend to do everything early out of an abundance of caution and/or some form of mental illness.)
If you’re a YouTube TV subscriber, there will be a window of the game on the home page. Click on that and it will take you to the YouTube stream.
