Xfinity TV Subs Finally Get Free ESPN Unlimited Access: How to Watch

TV Answer Man, do you know how to activate the ESPN app for Xfinity subscribers? – Gina, Boston.

Gina, Comcast and ESPN revealed today that the cable TV operator’s Xfinity TV subscribers (with ESPN in their plan) now have full and free access to the ESPN Unlimited app. That means that they can watch all live ESPN channels, on-demand shows and ESPN Select’s supplemental programming without paying an extra fee.

ESPN and Comcast reached an agreement last year to provide full and free access to the app but it was not implemented until today. DIRECTV, Fubo, U-verse, Cox, Hulu Live, Spectrum TV, and Verizon are among the TV providers that have had access for several weeks to months. (YouTube TV is expected to get free and full access later this year.)

If you are an Xfinity video subscriber with ESPN in your plan, here is how to activate your account and begin watching the app’s entire lineup of programming for free:

1 Go to your Xfinity Subscription Hub.
2. Click Activate next to or under the ESPN logo
3. A popup will appear, alerting you that you are leaving the Xfinity website to activate ESPN Unlimited
4. Click Activate ESPN Unlimited
5.
You will then be directed to the ESPN activation flow on ESPN.com
6. Click Agree & Activate
7. You will be prompted to enter an email address and password
8. Go to the ESPN app to start streaming

Gina, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
