Netflix Adding 10 New Releases This Week: The 3 to Watch

Netflix this week (January 18-24, 2026) will add 10 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion. (All Times Eastern).

Skyscraper Live
When to Watch: Friday, January 23, 8 p.m. ET
What Kind of Show: Live Event
Who’s In It: Alex Honnold
Netflix on Friday at 8 p.m. ET will livestream a professional rock climber (Alex Honnold) scaling a 101-story office building in Taipei, Taiwan with no ropes or safety nets. None. This is the biggest display of risk by Netflix since it decided to invest $200 million on that Marco Polo series. However, while the pitiful Polo only killed off a slew of fictional characters, this show could actually wind up with a real person dead. Consequently, I have no doubt that millions of Netflix viewers will stream in with a strong sense of morbid curiosity. (And I will be one of them. And I betcha you will be, too.)

Monday Night Raw: 2026
When to Watch: Monday, January 19, 3 p.m.
What Kind of Show: Athletic Entertainment
Who’s In It: CM Punk, Finn Balor
Netflix this month celebrates its first year anniversary of exclusively streaming the weekly WWE ‘wrasslin’ matches with a new episode Monday: CM Punk will defend his heavyweight title against Finn Balor. Plus, Becky Lynch will defend her women’s intercontinental title against Maxxine Dupri. The outcomes may be more certain than Skyscraper Live but the activity will be no less adventurous.

Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart
When to Watch: Wednesday, January 21
What Kind of Show: Documentary
Who’s In It: Elizabeth Smart
In 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped from her Utah home, triggering a nationwide search and an avalanche of media coverage. The young girl, who was held by a religious cultist, was not found until nine months later. In this Netflix original documentary, Smart recounts her harrowing story and discusses her current mission to advocate for survivors of kidnappings.
