Apple TV+ Raises Monthly Price By $3

Apple TV+ has raised the price of its streaming service from $9.99 a month to $12.99 a month, effective immediately.

The tech giant’s service has attracted praise from critics and viewers for its ‘HBO-like’ quality shows such as Severance (pictured above), Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Presumed Innocent and Sugar, among others. But the escalating cost of hiring top talent to produce those shows has finally triggered the new price hike. This is the first price increase for Apple TV+ in two years.

Apple TV+ still offers a seven-day free trial.

In related news, there have been reports that Apple could exit its agreement to carry Major League Baseball games on Friday nights and possibly switch to Sunday night games. (ESPN has opted out of the Sunday Night Baseball deal with MLB.) However, no agreements have yet to be announced.
