Comcast’s Xfinity TV cable service says it has expanded its Multiview feature to more X1 set-tops, allowing more subscribers to watch up to four live games on the same screen. The cable operator did not disclose in its press statement how many X1 subscribers can now use Multiview, but the expansion is timed to this month’s March Madness which begins tonight with a ‘First Four’ doubleheader on truTV at 6:30 p.m. ET.
“Now, they don’t have to choose between games, miss a buzzer beater when flipping channels, or set up another TV on a makeshift stand in their living room – all the action is right there on the same screen,” Vito Forlenza, vice president of sports entertainment for Comcast, said in the press release.
Comcast said pre-selected Multiview options will be available on the X1 set-top, ranging from two to four games at the same time. Subscribers can access a Multiview by saying ‘March Madness’ or ‘Multiview’ into their X1 voice remote. Once the Multiview screen is displayed, you can toggle between channels to switch the audio or switch any game into full-screen mode.
In related March Madness features, Xfinity TV will also offer:
* A March Madness tournament hub that will feature all men’s and women’s college basketball coverage on one screen.
* An interactive Sports Zone app that will enable fans to follow the latest brackets, scores, schedules and stats from the tournament when watching a single game or within a Multiview display.
* Live odds, game lines and prop bets for tournament matchups via an Xfinity Odds Zone, which can be accessed within the Xfinity Sports Zone app.
