Amazon’s Prime Video announced today that it will broadcast select coverage of The Masters golf tournament next April.
The streaming coverage will supplement the main live broadcasts of The Masters on CBS and ESPN. (DIRECTV also annually provides 4K feeds of select holes during the tournament.)
Prime Video will offer two additional hours of first and second round coverage on Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10, from 1-3 p.m. ET.
ESPN will continue the coverage on those days from 3-7:30 p.m. ET.
CBS will air the Masters live from 2-7 PM ET on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, preceded each day by live streaming coverage on Paramount+ from noon-2 PM ET.
“It’s an honor for all of us at Amazon to become a broadcast partner of the Masters Tournament and to provide fans addiIonal hours of live coverage of this treasured event,” said Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video U.S. and Global Sports, said in a statement. “We are humbled and proud to begin our relaIonship with Augusta NaIonal Golf Club, and we cannot wait to get started.”
Amazon did not reveal whether its Masters coverage will be in HD or 4K, but 1080p HD is most likely. That’s the format the company uses for Thursday Night Football and NASCAR races.
