Amazon’s Fire TV Has 20 Free Sports Channels – Here’s the Complete List

TV Answer Man, do you have any info on free sports channels on Amazon’s Fire TV devices. I think they have free channels, too. — Marcus, Philadelphia.

Marcus, Amazon’s Fire TV streaming devices have an array of interesting features including a lineup of free channels in categories such as news, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, and music videos. The free channels can be found on the Fire TV home page by clicking the Fire TV Channels box.

Like the free channels found on rival services such as Pluto TV, Tubi and The Roku Channel, Amazon is able to provide them for free because they include ads. However, there is a difference between Fire TV’s freebies and the others: You must own a Fire TV device or television to watch them. They are not available anywhere else, such as the web. In contrast, you can watch the free channels on Pluto, Tubi and Roku without owning a specific device or paying a sub fee. You don’t even have to set up an account to watch them.

In Amazon’s Fire TV sports category, there are 20 free channels including:

* ESPN 8 – The Ocho, which offers live and recorded competition in niche sports such as rock climbing; (The channel was inspired by a scene in the Ben Stiller comedy, Dodgeball.)

* CBS Sports HQ, a 24/7 sports news and highlights service from the aforementioned network;

* Fox Sports, which offers a mix of studio and news shows from the network;

* NBC Sports, which airs shows such as The Dan Patrick Show and the Dan Le Batard Show, among other  NBC Sports-produced programming;

* The NFL Channel, the league’s free streaming service featuring classic games and news and info shows;

* The MLB Channel, baseball’s free service featuring its classic games and other programming.

There are also several niche channels such as Pickle TV, which features pickleball play, and Surfer, which self-evidently covers the surfing industry.
