TV Answer Man, I keep seeing ads on DIRECTV for the Sports Pack. Could you do an article on what it is and how much it costs and what channels it has? Thanks for all your hard work!! — Jerry, Corsicana, Texas.

Jerry, the Sports Pack, which is available on DIRECTV and DIRECTV Stream, is a $14.99 a month add-on package that includes more than 20 national sports networks and out-of-market programming from more than 30 regional sports networks (RSN).

The package is a nice addition for the rabid sports fan, but it needs to be stressed that you cannot watch most live sporting events on the RSNs. For example, if the New York Yankees were playing on the Yes Network, that game would be blacked out unless you lived in the Yankees market. However, you could watch other shows on the Yes Network, such as news and studio programs on New York area teams.

This is the same policy for the other RSNs. You don’t get the live games of the professional teams (NBA, NHL, MLB) but you do get the supplemental programming.

Now, that said, here’s the list of channels that are included in DIRECTV’s Sports Pack:

NFL Network
ACC Network
NFL RedZone
Big Ten Network
CBS Sports Network

ESPNews
ESPNU
FanDuel TV
FS2
