Netflix, Amazon, HBO Max & Hulu to Add 36 New Releases This Weekend – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Hulu, Netflix, Amazon’s Prime Video and HBO Max this weekend (September 11-14, 2025) will add 36 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Novocaine (2025) – Amazon’s Prime Video
Release Date: Friday, September 12
Jack Quaid (Dennis’ kid) stars as a bank employee who’s unable to feel pain so is enlisted to rescue a co-worker (Amber Midthunder) held hostage by bank robbers. Dim the lights, and your expectations, and you’ll have lots of fun with Novocaine. (Also check out Ray Nicholson, Jack’s son, as one of the bank robbers. It’s an all Nepo-baby movie!)

Warfare (2025) – HBO Max
Release Date: Friday, September 12
Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza co-direct this intense war drama based on a real-life Navy Seal expedition in Iraq in 2006 that went south when the team was surrounded by insurgents. I haven’t seen the movie, but the reviews have been glowing with the BBC writing it’s “a masterful technical achievement that is, more important, emotionally harrowing.” (Co-director Mendoza served in Iraq and the film is based on his experiences.)

Netflix Boxing: Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford
Friday, September 13, 8 p.m. ET
Netflix has been dabbling with live sports for a few years now but this is the biggest event it has streamed ever. On Friday, September 13, the streaming giant will host (exclusively) the Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez-Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford fight for free with all plans. (No pay-per-view, folks.) The undercard is expected to begin at 8 p.m. ET with the main bout around 11 p.m, ET. Alvarez, 62-2-2 with 39 KOs, is the Super Middleweight Champion while Crawford, 41-0 with 31 KOs, is the WBA’s Junior Middleweight Champion. Crawford will jump up in weight to 168 pounds to compete for the Super Middleweight crown. The two are considered the sport’s best fighters pound-for-pound and this should be a battle for the ages.
