TV Answer Man, will NBC have Notre Dame games in 4K again this season? Big fan of my team!! – Tess, Gary, Indiana.

Tess, for the last several seasons, NBC has broadcast Notre Dame college football home games in upscale 4K. And the network is coming through again this season, starting with Saturday’s (September 13, 2025) battle between the 8th ranked Fighting Irish against the 16th ranked Aggies of Texas A&M. The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be simulcast in high-definition on NBC and Peacock.

Notre Dame, which is 0-1 (lost to Miami, 27-24), is a 6.5-point favorite at home. Texas A&M is 2-0. ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives Notre Dame a 61 percent chance of winning.

DIRECTV and YouTube TV are among the TV providers which will carry the game in 4K on special 4K channels. Consult your on-screen guide to see if your provider will carry the game in 4K.

The NBC broadcast will be upscaled to 4K on DIRECTV and YouTube TV, meaning it will be produced in 1080p HD and upscaled to the higher format for home delivery. While upscaled 4K is not regarded as precise or vivid as native 4K (4K on-site production; 4K cameras; and 4K transmission to the home), it can deliver a more colorful and clear picture than a regular HD image.
