TV Answer Man, When do you think YouTube will offer existing customers a discount on the NFL Sunday Ticket and not just one for new customers? – Gerald, Akron, Ohio.

Gerald, YouTube earlier this week started offering discounts as much as $204 on the 2025 NFL Sunday Ticket to new users. The move promptly triggered complaints from existing and past subscribers of the package of Sunday afternoon out-of-market games who said they should be rewarded for their loyalty.

Well, YouTube must have been listening because the streamer yesterday started offering $36 off the full Ticket price to existing subscribers in a renewal e-mail pitch. Several current subs posted on social media that they had received the e-mail and a Google spokeswoman confirmed to The TV Answer Man that the offer is for $36 off the full retail price. (The full Ticket price is $378 if purchased with YouTube TV; $480 if purchased separately via YouTube Primetime Channels.)

“Renew now and get rewarded,” the e-mail states. “Until July 24, score $36 off your annual subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket when you renew.”

While the price reduction is considerably less than what new users are being offered, it’s a start.

“PSA: NFL Sunday Ticket is $36 ‘cheaper’ if you add it now versus adding or renewing post-August 1.

Usually I ignore these but Sunday Ticket is as important as your mortgage so go save that dough,” Travis Yost, a TSN hockey writer, posted on X.

“I got an email saying it would save $36 to do it now,” Washington D.C. sports radio host Grant Paulsen wrote on X.

YouTube could offer more discounts as we get closer to the start of the regular season in September. And it’s unclear if 2023 subscribers who did not sign up for the 2024 plan are eligible for lower prices.

The TV Answer Man will continue to monitor this situation and report back here if anything changes.
