Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon’s Prime Video this weekend (June 12-15, 2025) will add 25 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the five to watch, in my humble opinion:
Fubar (Season 2) – Netflix Original
Release Date: Thursday, June 12.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in season two of his first TV series ever. The actor/politician/bodybuilder plays a CIA operative who discovers that his daughter works for the company as well. Comic and action hijinks soon ensue. This is not vintage Arnold – the old boy is a bit long in the tooth – but it’s still fun watching him kick butt while muscling out one liners.
Plane (2023) – Netflix
Release Date: Thursday, June 12
Gerard Butler (pictured above) stars as a commercial pilot who must team with a suspected murderer to fight off a hostile army when his plane crashes. Fast-paced and well-done action thriller.
Cleaner (2025) – HBO Max
Release Date: Friday, June 13.
Daisy Ridley (Star Wars sequels) stars as a former British military officer whose low-key life as a window cleaner turns chaotic when her assigned building is taken over by a group of environmental radicals. Clive Owen (pictured above) plays the head of the activist group and that’s enough for me to stream in. Sounds like Inside Man meets Die Hard. The movie, which comes in at a clean and crisp 97 minutes, snatched this positive review from The Hollywood Reporter: “Director Martin Campbell clearly knows his way around this sort of material, resulting in some tense, well-staged action sequences that make Cleaner reasonably diverting for its concise running time.”
Deep Cover (2025) – Amazon Original Movie
Release Date: June 12
Bryce Dallas Howard and Orlando Bloom star as improv actors who are recruited by the police to participate in sting operations. I haven’t seen it yet but the trailer looks funny with enough action mixed in to maintain your interest when the jokes fall flat.
ROMCOM: Who the…Is Jason Porter – Amazon Original Documentary
Release Date: June 13
A young female real estate broker engages in a three-year romance with an online suitor only to discover he has a long history of defrauding his dates. The intense doc exposes the dark side of online dating and will make you think twice the next time you click or swipe.
