Netflix today has announced that it’s raising prices in the United States and Canada on all three streaming plans.

The ads-included $6.99 a month will now be $7.99 a month; the Standard plan, which does not include ads, will rise from $15.49 a month to $17.99 a month. And the 4K plan, which was previously a hefty $22.99 a month, will increase by $2 more a month to $24.99.

Netflix, which today also revealed that it added 19 million additional subscribers worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2024, blamed the higher prices on the increased cost of producing programming. The streamer, which has more subscribers than any other in the U.S. and worldwide, continues to roll out new original shows as well as introduce live sports including WWE wrestling and a NFL doubleheader on Christmas.

“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix,” Netflix said in a statement today to investors.

Netflix last raised prices in October 2023.
