TV Answer Man, I read your article on ESPN doing the Miami-Indiana championship game in 4K. But will it be a SkyCam 4K? I HOPE NOT!! – Jamal, Sacramento.

Jamal, ESPN will broadcast college football’s national championship between 10th ranked Miami and top ranked Indiana on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The sports network will offer both a upscaled 4K feed and HD feed of the game. (The 4K feed will be on special 4K channels on DIRECTV, Dish, Sling TV, Charter, Comcast, Optimum, Verizon and YouTube TV. The HD feed will be on the regular ESPN channel and the ESPN Unlimited app.)

For several years, ESPN’s 4K feed of the national championship game was the network’s SkyCast view, which is a camera stationed above and behind the offensive line. However, ESPN changed up last year and offered a 4K feed that used the same cameras that were used for the regular channel.

And, Jamal, I am happy to report that ESPN this year will again offer an upscaled 4K feed of the regular ESPN channel. The 4K feed will not be the SkyCast.

By the way, if you want to watch the SkyCast view of the game, it will be available on the ESPNews channel.

Jamal, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
