Apple has announced that its exclusive streamcasts of F1 (Formula One) races in 2026 will be available in 4K and Dolby Vision, beginning with tonight’s (March 7) Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix at 11 p.m. ET.
The tech titan, which produced last year’s Brad Pitt-starring racing drama, FI, will offer all 2026 F1 practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions and Grand Prix races on Apple TV. The F1 coverage will be available as part of the regular $12.99 a month Apple TV subscription.
“This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S.,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring every moment of the season to Apple TV, delivering an immersive experience designed entirely around fans. Formula 1’s growth in America has been extraordinary, and we’re proud to build on that momentum — combining the power of Apple TV with the broader Apple ecosystem to create even more ways for fans to connect with the sport.”
Apple TV’s Grand Prix races will feature English and Spanish commentary and up to 30 additional live feeds across all sessions. The multiple feeds will include ‘Driver Tracker’ for a bird’s-eye view of the race; real-time telemetry and timing; a mixed onboard feed that automatically switches between onboard cameras as the race unfolds; and Podium feeds that follow the drivers running in P1, P2, and P3 throughout.
Apple TV subscribers can also follow each race through a Multiview display with up to four live feeds on screen at once. You will be able to customize the Multiview, choosing your own feeds, or watch one provided by Apple TV.
In addition to the Apple TV streaming coverage, Apple will feature live updates and other coverage for every race on Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, and Apple Fitness+, Apple Sports. The offering will include real-time leaderboards, season driver and constructor standings, Live Activities to follow on the Lock Screen, and a designated widget for the iPhone Home Screen.
F1 TV Premium, the sport’s own pay TV service, will continue to be available in the United States via an Apple TV subscription only and will be free for those who subscribe.

Since Apple provides two streams to choose from, F1 TV and Sky Sports, will both be 4K?
Don’t know.
