Netflix to Remove 27 Movies In 5 Days: The 3 to Watch

Netflix has announced that it will remove 27 movies from its streaming lineup on April 1, 2026. Here are the three to watch before they leave, in my humble opinion:
Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
Director Kathryn Bigelow’s intense 2012 drama starring Jessica Chastain as a relentless CIA agent who hunts for the masterminds behind the 9/11 attack on America. The film was seen by some as glorifying the extralegal tactics required to obtain leads in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. But it fairly characterizes the pain and zeal felt by the intelligence/military personnel at the time. And Chastain is riveting as a CIA case officer who can’t sit still (literally) until she finds her man. The supporting cast is equally as good with most notable performances from James Gandofini, Chris Pratt, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, and Joel Edgerton.
Best In Show (2000)
The Christopher Guest-directed satire of the annual Westminster Dog Show will make you howl with laughter. The film features a Hall of Fame lineup of great comedy actors (Guest, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Michael McKeon, Fred Willard, Jane Lynch, Parker Posey) and they all deliver flawless characterizations of people you probably know (but perhaps wish you didn’t.). If you love dogs, or just love laughing, do watch this film before it leaves.
Man on Fire (2004)
Denzel Washington (pictured above) plays John Creasy, a former CIA intelligence agent turned alcoholic who’s hired to protect Pita, the young daughter (Dakota Fanning) of wealthy parents in Mexico City. The seemingly easy gig turns upside down when the daughter is kidnapped in a shootout that leaves Creasy fighting for his life. The subsequent events as Creasy seeks revenge, and the return of the young girl, makes Man on Fire one of the best action pictures of this century. Denzel is magnetism personified as the ruthless former government assassin who employs all his skills to set things right. Christopher Walken is also exceptional as Creasy’s former CIA colleague, as is Fanning as Pita, matching Denzel step for step in several pivotal scenes. The Denzel-Dakota chemistry was renewed in 2023 when the now 30-year-old Fanning had a supporting role in Denzel’s The Equalizer 3. (This time, she played a CIA officer!)
