The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Peacock, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon Prime are adding 17 new shows and movies today (February 6, 2026). Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Queen of Chess
Where to Watch: Netflix
What Kind of Show: Documentary
Who’s In It: Judit Polgar, Garry Kasparov
Did you watch Netflix’s outstanding dramatic series, The Queen’s Gambit, starring Anya Taylor-Joy? If so, you will love this new Netflix documentary on Judit Polgar, the real-life version of the film. Polgar, a Hungarian, set out at 12 to be the best chess master in the world, a seemingly ludicrous goal considering the obstacles facing female players. The doc chronicles her rise in the ranks including her thrilling match against the legendary Garry Kasparov who was no fan of females in the grand game.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (New episode)
Where to Watch: HBO Max
What Kind of Show: Mythical Drama
Who’s In It: Peter Claffey, Dexter Sol Ansell
In case you haven’t heard, there’s a Super Bowl on Sunday night. Well, the suits at HBO have certainly heard about it because they have rushed the fourth episode of season one of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to Friday to avoid a scheduling conflict (massacre). The Game of Thrones prequel follow a hedge knight (Peter Claffey) in a dragon-less land where intrigue still rules the Targaryen dynasty. (Note that HBO Max will also debut a new episode of the Sunday night mainstay Industry today; the British show had no chance up against a team called the New England Patriots, did they?)
2026 Winter Olympics
Where to Watch: Peacock
When to Watch: All Day
The first official day of the 2026 Winter Games is today with the Opening Ceremony live at 1:40 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBC. (You can catch a replay at 8 p.m. ET.) There will also be coverage of Rhythm Dancing, Curling, Snowboarding and other sports. To see the complete TV schedule, click here.
