Will Super Bowl 2026 Be Available In 4K?

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
TV Answer Man, do you know if the Super Bowl will be in 4K? Certainly they will do the game in 4K, right? NBC would look terrible if they didn’t. – Bob, Cleveland.
Bob, the 2026 Super Bowl will be kickoff Sunday, February 8, at 6:40 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. And we now know which teams will play: The New England Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks.
NBC has the broadcast rights to this year’s game. But will the peacock network offer the game in 4K? And what about Peacock? Will the NBC-operated streaming service stream the event in 4K?
I’ve had numerous readers ask me that for the last week and I’ve offered non-committal answers because NBC had yet to provide an official confirmation.
Will the Super Bowl Air In 4K?
But this morning, I can say with certainty that NBC will air the Super Bowl in 4K. YouTube TV, one of the providers that will carry the 4K feed, has confirmed this on its app.
The 4K feed will be upscaled, meaning NBC will use a 1080p production and convert it to 4K for the home transmission.
Who Will Carry the Super Bowl In 4K?
DIRECTV, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Charter’s Spectrum TV, Dish, Sling TV, Verizon and Optimum TV are also likely to offer the 4K Super Bowl since they have carried NBC events in 4K in the recent past. But we will have to wait for official confirmations.
Fubo, which is currently in a carriage dispute with NBC, will not provide the game in 4K at this time. That could change if the two companies settle before game time.
Will Peacock Stream the Game In 4K?
Lastly, Peacock currently says the game will be in HD on its streaming app. But The TV Answer Man this week will ask NBC if that is correct. The streamer has a history of mislabeling its format choices on live sporting events.
NBC confirms it will offer the game in 4K on Peacock. See our update.
Bob, I hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
