ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CW Adding 11 New Shows Sunday Night: The 3 to Watch

ABC, Fox, CBS, NBC and the CW tonight (January 11, 2026) will add 11 new shows and episodes to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion: (All times Eastern.)

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes
Where to Watch: CBS
When to Watch: 8 p.m.

Nikki Glaser will host the once-disgraced awards show for the second straight year. While she’s no Ricky Gervais, Glaser did set a few Hollywood heads on fire last year with her spicy barbs about Paramount Plus, Ariana Grande and fat-reducing drugs. Tonight, expect more zingers, plenty of awards for One Battle After Another, and at least one speech about the political strife in Minnesota. (It’s Hollywood, folks; they need to express themselves.)

Sunday Night Football: Chargers at Patriots
Where to Watch: NBC
When to Watch: 8 p.m.

The 14-3 New England Patriots host the 11-6 Los Angeles Chargers in this first round NFL playoff game from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. With LA QB1 Justin Herbert leading the Chargers, and 23-year-old Drake Maye behind center for the Pats, this could be a high-scoring thriller to the end. The Patriots are a 3.5-point favorite.

That Thing You Do (1996)
Where to Watch: ABC
When to Watch: 8:30 p.m.

ABC execs are smart enough to know that you don’t schedule a new show against a NFL playoff game and the Golden Globes. So the network is airing a 30-year-old movie instead. However, it’s actually not a bad movie. Tom Hanks stars (who also directs and writes) as a music executive who steers a ‘one-hit wonder’ band in the 1960s to instant fame. The charming cast includes Steve Zahn and Tom Everett Scott as band members, Liv Tyler as ‘the girlfriend,’ and a very young Charlize Theron as a former flame. If you’re not into football and Hollywood tributes to itself, settle in for a sweet night with the sweet music of The Wonders.
