TV Answer Man, will YouTube ever get its act together and have Multiview for the Sunday Ticket where we can pick the games?! Please!! — Marlon, St. Paul, Minnesota.
Marlon, YouTube’s first season as the exclusive carrier of the NFL Sunday Ticket was 2023 and most fans were quite pleased with its performance. The picture was vivid and the technical issues were relatively few. However, if there was one thing that fans didn’t like, it was that you couldn’t choose which games to include in YouTube’s Multiview feature. Instead, YouTube would choose the games although it would offer a variety of Multiview options. (Multiview displays multiple channels on one screen.)
But in 2024, that is changing.
YouTube announced today that NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers this season will be able to choose the games in Multiview. The company says it’s been testing the feature and it’s now ready to go.
“Get the ultimate fan experience right in your living room: creating the optimal Multiview combination is now in your control. We began testing the ability to build a Multiview earlier this year, but we’re excited to now make it available for NFL fans on both YouTube and YouTube TV,” YouTube says today in a blog post at its web site.
The company says subscribers will be able to include a combination of two, three, or four NFL Sunday Ticket games. YouTube TV base plan ($72.99 a month) subscribers will also be able to include local games in Multiview when available.
YouTube also says Multiview for the Sunday Ticket will be available on TVs, mobile device and tablets for the start of the season. The first Sunday of games will be September 8.
Marlon, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
