Amazon’s Prime Video this week (December 28, 2025-January 3, 2026) plans to add 63 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Naked Gun (2025)
When to Watch: Monday, December 29
Who’s In It: Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson

The Naked Gun? Shirley, you can’t be serious! Yes, we are serious that The Naked Gun remake with Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin, Jr. is seriously funny. (And don’t call me Shirley.) Neeson, perhaps best known for his unique skill set in the Taken action franchise, displays a surprising light touch in the Leslie Nielsen role and Pamela Anderson is sweet and sexy as his love interest. Fun movie that lives up to the franchise’s legacy. (Photo above of Neeson and Anderson from the movie.

American Gangster (2007)
When to Watch: Thursday, January 1, 2026
Who’s In It: Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Josh Brolin

The 2007 crime drama from director Ridley Scott stars Denzel Washington as real-life Harlem drug kingpin Frank Lucas and Russell Crowe as the cop who brings him down. Denzel is at his charismatic best as the crime boss; you can’t take his eyes off him. And Crowe is equally good as the randy but relentless detective. (And there are few directors better than Ridley Scott.) Masterful work all around.

Ray (2004)
When to Watch: Thursday, January 1, 2026
Who’s In It: Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Terrence Howard

Ray, directed by Taylor Hackford chronicles the life story of the late and great blind singer, Ray Charles, starring Jamie Foxx in the performance of a lifetime. Foxx’s exceptional (and still underrated) talents are on full display and Hackford does a masterful job of showing the singer’s full life, warts and all.
