Hulu to Add 73 New Releases This Week: The 3 to Watch

Hulu this week (December 28, 2025-January 3, 2026) plans to add 73 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025 Induction Ceremony
When to Watch: Friday, January 2
Who’s In It: The White Stripes, Elton John, Soundgarden, Cyndi Lauper
The musical special, which was recorded on November 8, 2025 in front of a live audience from the Peacock Theater in LA, will feature tributes to this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees including Soundgarden, OutKast, Cyndi Lauper and The White Stripes. Performers such as Elton John and Missy Elliott will join the inductees in singing some of their biggest hits. If you’ve never seen one of these Rock & Roll HOF shows, it’s definitely worth your time. The musicians go all out to celebrate their colleagues; you won’t hear better jams anywhere. (Note: The special will air the night before on ABC.)

Together (2025)
When to Watch: Wednesday, December 31
Who’s In It: Alison Brie, Dave Franco
Real-life husband and wife Dave Franco and Alison Brie (pictured above) star in this supernatural drama as an emotionally distant couple who suddenly begin to have their body parts stick together. Doctors have no answers for their dilemma so they turn to black magic and ancient philosophy. Together is a smart satire on the enigma of successful romantic relationships with clever performances from the leads.

Heat (1995)
When to Watch: January 1
Who’s In It: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore
Michael Mann’s classic heist film pits master thief Robert De Niro against world-weary detective Al Pacino in a battle for the ages. This is the first film the two acting legends appeared in the same scene together, and while they share the screen for less than 10 minutes, it’s like watching Michael Jordan play Kobe Bryant in their primes. The intensity pours off the screen as they attempt (even if not consciously) to outdo the other. Almost lost in the novelty of having De Niro and Pacino in the same film is Mann’s incredible vision and direction of Heat which holds your attention for nearly three hours as if it were three minutes. It’s a whirlwind of a movie and increasingly getting recognition as one of the best ever.
