Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, Hulu Adding 8 New Releases Monday: The 3 to Watch

Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon’s Prime Video, Hulu, Peacock and HBO Max today (December 29, 2025) are adding eight new shows and movies to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Naked Gun (2025)

Who’s In It: Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson
The Naked Gun? Shirley, you can’t be serious! Yes, we are serious that The Naked Gun remake with Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin, Jr. is seriously funny. (And don’t call me Shirley.) Neeson, perhaps best known for his unique skill set in the Taken action franchise, displays a surprising light touch in the Leslie Nielsen role and Pamela Anderson is sweet and sexy as his love interest. Fun movie that lives up to the franchise’s legacy.

Who’s In It: 5 Women You’ve Never Heard Of
Netflix, which has enjoyed success with its Love Is Blind dating reality series, now gets really real with a show about five women (pictured above) who live to increase their status in tony Palm Beach, Florida. “You definitely need tough skin to make it in this town. I stop at nothing to get what I want, and I never take no for an answer,” one of the fab five told Netflix’s Tudum. The women seek out exclusive memberships, access to the best fashion designers in town, and beauty treatments that Hollywood stars would envy. If you are fan of the Real Housewives series, this is one is for you. If you’re not a fan, Members Only might still be worth watching as an expose of the unlimited capacity of human vanity.

Who’s In It: Ben Zand (Journalist)
And speaking of vanity, or perhaps something even more alarming, documentary maker Ben Zand investigates the growing practice of young men going to extremes to ‘improve’ their looks. The methods range from excessive exercise to taking a hammer to one’s face. What once was an exclusive obsession of young women has now become a psychosis among many males desperate for greater self esteem. It’s impossible not to connect this trend with the five women of Netflix’s Palm Beach but what does it say about today’s culture? And how concerned should we be? Watch these two shows, if you dare.

If you don’t dare, Peacock has a NBA doubleheader tonight; no hammers allowed.
