NBC, CBS, ABC, CW, Fox Adding 14 New Shows Monday Night: The 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and The CW tonight (December 29, 2025) will add 14 new shows and episodes. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
NBA Basketball
Where to Watch: NBC
When to Watch: 8 p.m. ET
NBC continues its coverage of the NBA with an interesting doubleheader starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers-San Antonio Spurs game at 8 p.m. ET and followed by the Dallas Mavericks-Portland Trail Blazers game at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Cavs-Spurs game is the one to watch here. San Antonio, led by 7’4” forward Victor Wembanyama (23.9 points a game with 11.5 rebounds), has the second best record (23-8) in the Western Conference. The Cavs are 17-16, good for the eighth best record in the Eastern Conference.
The Year: 2025
Where to Watch: ABC
When to Watch: 8 p.m. ET
Robin Roberts hosts this look at the year that was, including interviews with a motley crew of what constitutes a celebrity today (A’Ja Wilson, Christian Soriano, Robert Irwin, Alex Earle, Whitney Leavitt, Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berger and several other people that I’VE NEVER HEARD OF!) The show, which will also feature testimonies from ABC news personalities such as David Muir, Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer, will examine the political and cultural trends that shaped the nation.
DMV
Where to Watch: CBS
When to Watch: 8:30 p.m. ET
It’s hard to believe that a workplace comedy about a motor vehicles department hasn’t been made until now. But CBS’ new sitcom, DMW, which is based in Los Angeles (where driving is a dangerous sport), fits the bill nicely. Harriet Dyer stars as a soft-hearted driving examiner and the great Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) is on board as a former English professor turned driving instructor. Tonight’s episode: Collette (Dyer) helps Noa (Alex Tarrant) administer a driving test. (DMV, which debuted in October 2025, has aired nine episodes so far; this is episode three.)
