Netflix to Add 25 New Shows & Movies This Week – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Netflix this week (November 2-8, 2025) plans to add 25 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion;

Frankenstein (2025) – Netflix Original Film
Release Date: Friday, November 7.
Netflix is bringing new life to the old boy with Oscar Isaac starring as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, the man who taunts the gods by transforming a decaying corpse to a living creature. The film, a remake of several earlier Frankenstein tales, including the original 1931 classic starring Boris Karloff, is directed by Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley), a visionary filmmaker who should give this dusty ditty a fresh perspective worth viewing. The supporting cast includes Jacob Elordi (Elvis, Euphoria) as The Creature, Scream Queen Mia Goth (Pearl) as Dr. Frankenstein’s girlfriend, and Christoph Walz as the doc’s money man.

Death By Lighting – Netflix Original Series
Release Date: Thursday, November 6
Michael A. Shannon stars as the 20th president of the United States, James A. Garfield, who was assassinated by a disappointed office seeker, played by Matthew Macfadyen (Succession). The series, which chronicles the events of the Garfieldpresidency leading up to the assassination, is a different look for Netflix which tends to favor modern murder stories (particularly serial killers). But I’m looking forward to it (and hope that Netflix does a better job with the story than Apple did with Manhunt, the Lincoln-Booth conspiracy series.) Both Shannon and Macfadyen are intriguing actors and the supporting cast includes Betty Gilpin as Mrs. Garfield and Nick Offerman as vice president Chester Arthur.

Election (1999)
Release Date: Wednesday, November 5
The satire from director Alexander Payne about a corrupt high school election stars Matthew Broderick as a overqualified teacher who’s outwitted by an overachieving student, played flawlessly by Reese Witherspoon. This is Broderick as his best since Ferris Bueller. Election is a funny, insightful film from an underrated director.
