Netflix to Add 30 New Releases On Sunday

The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.

Netflix on Sunday (June 1, 2025) will add 30 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Alfred Hitchcock – 6 Films
Netflix tomorrow will add six classic films from director Alfred Hitchcock: The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, The Man Who Knew Who Too Much, Family Plot, and Frenzy. (The streamer earlier added Psycho.) It says here that Vertigo and Rear Window are the best, both daring to deliver deep psychological drama (if not outright psychotic drama) in the pristine 1950s. But you can’t go wrong with any selection from the greatest director of suspense the world has ever known.

The Town (2010)
The absorbing 2010 heist drama starring Ben Affleck (who also directed and co-wrote) as a bank robber who courts a beautiful witness (Rebecca Hall) while protecting her from a fellow gang member. Affleck shines here as both star and director, the latter status he deserves far greater recognition.

The Nutty Professor (1996)
Eddie Murphy’s 1996 homage to the original Jerry Lewis 1963 masterpiece with the former playing multiple roles including a meek scientist who discovers a formula that turns him into a testosterone-fueled ladies’ man. Eddie should have received an Oscar nom for this, but that’s another story for another day.
