HBO Max to Add 79 New Releases This Week: The 7 to Watch

HBO Max this week (March 29-April 4, 2026) will add 79 shows to its streaming lineup. Here are the seven to watch, in my humble opinion:

7 Alien Movies
When to Watch: Wednesday, April 1, Friday, April 3
What Kind of Movies: Sci-Fi
Who’s In It: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Fassbender, Tom Skerritt
If you love sci-fi and monsters, here’s your reason to subscribe to HBO Max. The streamer is adding seven Alien movies plus six different versions of those films including director cuts. The fun begins on Wednesday (April 1) with the release of Alien vs. Predator, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Aliens, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and the original Alien from 1979. Then on Friday, HBO Max will add Alien: Romulus, the 2024 film. If you’ve never seen the original directed by the great Ridley Scott, it’s an intense thrill ride starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt and John Hurt as members of a futuristic commercial space ship which is invaded by an omnipotent monstrous blob that loves to destroy human beings. The film set off the franchise which has not only led to the numerous films but a excellent FX/Hulu TV series, Alien: Earth. Have fun this week, Alien fans.
