How to Watch the NBA On Peacock – Games Start Tonight!

TV Answer Man, could you explain to us what we need to do to watch the NBA games on Peacock? We want to subscribe but it’s confusing. We are not used to watching streaming. – Claire, Berlin, Maryland.

Claire, NBC and Peacock tonight will air an opening night doubleheader with the Houston Rockets visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7:30 p.m. ET and the Golden State Warriors visiting the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET. This marks the return of the NBA to NBC in more than two decades. (Pre-game coverage will begin tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET.)

While NBC will air dozens of NBA contests, Peacock will stream 100 games during the 2025/26 season. Starting next Monday (October 27, 2025), the streamer will offer up to three games every Monday night each week.

NBC, which last year signed an 11-year broadcasting agreement with the NBA, has announced the debut games for ‘Peacock NBA Monday’ on October 27: The Cleveland Cavaliers will visit the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m. ET while the Minnesota Timberwolves will host the Denver Nuggets at 9:30 p.m. ET.

To watch Peacock, you will need to download the Peacock app from your streaming or mobile device’s App Store. Then, you’ll need to subscribe to the $10.99 a month Premium plan or above. The $7.99 a month Select plan does not include live sports so be sure you get the Premium ($10.99 a month) or Premium Plus ($16.99 a month) plan. You can subscribe here. You will also need a streaming device or Smart TV that is compatible with Peacock. Fortunately, the list is quite lengthy and you can check out whether your device or set is compatible here.
