Netflix plans to remove 23 movies from its lineup between now (February 18, 2025) and the end of the month. (February 28, 2025). Here are the three you should definitely watch before they leave, in my humble opinion:
All Good Things (2010)
Ryan Gosling stars as a Robert Durst-like real estate heir who’s accused of multiple murders including his wife, played by Kirsten Dunst. The film, directed by Andrew Jarecki (who later went on to direct a groundbreaking documentary on Durst, called The Jinx), is a savage portrayal of wealthy entitlement escalating to amorality. Gosling, who was regarded as a relative lightweight before being cast, is exceptional here, displaying a nuanced manner which would serve him well in future films such as Blade Runner 2049, Drive and First Man. Leaving February 21.

Southpaw (2015)
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Billy ‘The Great’ Hope, an undefeated light heavyweight champion who never loses in the ring but suddenly loses everything (wife, child) outside of it. This will not go down as the best sports film of all time, but Gyllenhaal is convincing as is the superb supporting cast including Rachel McAdams as his wife and Forest Whittaker as an aging ex-fighter. Leaving February 20.
Inception (2010)
Inception, the 2010 mind-bending sci-fi drama from director Chris Nolan (Oppenheimer) which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a thief who steals information by entering another’s mind. (Maybe why it’s not always wise to be open minded.) Great movie, but if you’re not a chess player, prepared to get lost in the plot a few times. Leaving February 28.
