Netflix to Add 51 New Titles This Week – Here Are the 3 Most Interesting

Netflix this week (December 29, 2024-January 4, 2025) plans to add 51 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Missing You (Netflix original series)
Rosalind Eleazar stars as Kat Donovan, a detective who discovers her fiance (Ashley Walters) is on a dating site — 11 years after he disappeared. You might say she’s not much of a detective if it took her 11 years to find him, and on a dating site to boot. Well, I thought that, too, but the five-episode mystery/thriller series gets even more intriguing when you hear Kat is in charge of the missing persons department, that her father has been murdered, and her long-buried secrets are starting to surface. Whoa, Nellie. Whoa, Kat.  Debuts Wednesday, January 1.

Love Is Blind – Germany (Netflix Original)
Based on the American version of the Netflix dating series, a few dozen German men and women will take turns jumping into shielded pods to discuss life, sex and other trivial matters while searching for ‘the one.’ The show is more disposable than an ultra-soft box of Kleenex but it’s harmless and occasionally funny. And if you’re a 20something, it’s probably irresistible. Debuts Friday, January 3.

Inception (2010)
Inception, the 2010 mind-bending sci-fi drama from director Chris Nolan (Oppenheimer) which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a thief who steals information by entering another’s mind. (Maybe why it’s not always wise to be open minded.) Great movie, but if you’re not a chess player, prepared to get lost in the plot a few times. Debuts January 1.
