Disney+, the streaming service, plans to add six new TV shows and movies this week (July 15-21, 2024.) Here’s the two most interesting, in my humble opinion:

The Acolyte (Season one, final episode)
The Star Wars show is set roughly 100 years before the Skywalker saga that catapulted the George Lucas franchise into orbit, in more ways than one. Here a Jedi master investigates a series of crimes that opens the door to an invasion of evil forces. The Acolyte thus far has captured an impressive 85 score at Rotten Tomatoes and this week’s final episode in the 8-episode season should be a viewer magnet for Disney Plus. Debuts on Tuesday, July 16.

NFL Flag Football Championship
Disney+ will stream live coverage of the inaugural event from Canton, Ohio, a 30-game showcase featuring the top 15U boys and 18U girls’ teams competing for the NFL Flag Championship title. Perhaps I’m missing football because it’s June, but this sounds like fun. Debuts Sunday, July 21.

Angels in the Outfield

Tuesday, July 16
The Acolyte, episode 8 at 6 p.m. PT

Wednesday, July 17
America’s Funniest Home Videos (Seasons 27-29, 66 episodes.)
