HBO Max to Add 137 New Releases In March 2026: The 3 to Watch

The  TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!

HBO Max next month (March 2026) will add 137 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

DTF: St. Louis (Premiere Episode)
When to Watch: March 1
What Kind of Show: Black Comedy
Who’s In It: Jason Bateman, David Harbour, Linda Cardellini

Jason Bateman, David Harbour and Linda Cardellini star as three middle-aged adults entangled in a love triangle. That’s complicated enough but one of them winds up dead. If you’re intrigued, so am I. HBO hasn’t revealed additional details but Bateman seems to hit every shot he takes these days (Ozark, The Black Rabbit, etc.) so let’s all stream in. Premiere episode on Sunday with subsequent episodes on Sundays until the series finale on April 12.

Rooster (Season one premiere)
When to Watch: March 8
What Kind of Show: Comedy
Who’s In It: Steve Carell, John C. McGinley, Charly Clive

Steve Carell stars as a college professor and author who has a complicated relationship with his daughter (Charly Clive) whose husband just split to have an affair. Again, not a lot of details from HBO, but Carell is very funny in the trailer and the writing team comes from shows like Ted Lasso so this looks like a good bet. Still not convinced? Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) is in the recurring cast so it’s gotta’ be good.

The Comeback (Season three premiere)
When to Watch: March 22
What Kind of Show: Satire
Who’s In It: Lisa Kudrow

Speaking of comebacks! Lisa Kudrow’s satirical comedy about a one-time sitcom star who’s struggling to stay relevant returns for season three after a 12-year absence. Talk about art imitating life imitating art.
