Peacock to Add 89 New Releases This Week: The 3 to Watch

Peacock this week (January 26-February 1, 2026) is adding 89 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Office: Superfan Episodes (9 Seasons)
When to Watch: Monday, January 26
What Kind of Show: Workplace Comedy
Who’s In It: Steve Carell, John Krasinski

If you loved The Office, the NBC sitcom that ran for nine seasons (2005-2013), this is your day. Peacock now has extended versions (deleted scenes undeleted and some scenes recut) of all nine seasons. It’s like watching the show for the first time. (Extended versions for the first eight seasons were previously added to Peacock; the extended season nine was added today, Monday, January 26.) Featured image above is of Steve Carell, star of The Office.

The Traitors (Episode 7)
When to Watch: Thursday, January 29
What Kind of Show: Reality/Competition Show
Who’s In It: Alan Cumming

I have not watched The Traitors and, from the description, I seriously doubt that I will ever watch it. But it is a popular show, based on social media chattery. So I am including it here for those who might be interested. And for those who are not familiar with it, The Traitors, hosted by Alan Cumming (Eyes Wide Shut), is a game show where Z-list celebrities compete for cash prizes by engaging in a Survivor-like game where some participants are secret traitors who plot to ‘murder’ other players. Somehow, by the end of the season, a winner is declared based on whether the traitors stay in the game or not. This season’s celebrity Z-list includes – and you might want to sit down for this – Yam Yam Arocho, Maura Higgins, Donna Kelce (Mom to the NFL’s Kelces), Kristen Kish and a host of others I’ve never heard of.

Man on Fire (2004)
When to Watch: Sunday, February 1
What Kind of Movie: Action/Drama
Who’s In It: Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, Christopher Walken

Denzel Washington plays John Creasy, a former CIA intelligence agent turned alcoholic who’s hired to protect Pita, the young daughter (Dakota Fanning) of wealthy parents in Mexico City. The seemingly easy gig turns upside down when the daughter is kidnapped in a shootout that leaves Creasy fighting for his life. The subsequent events as Creasy seeks revenge, and the return of the young girl, makes Man on Fire one of the best action pictures of this century. Denzel is magnetism personified as the ruthless former government assassin who employs all his skills to set things right. Christopher Walken is also exceptional as Creasy’s former CIA colleague, as is Fanning as Pita, matching Denzel step for step in several pivotal scenes. The Denzel-Dakota chemistry was renewed in 2023 when the now 30-year-old Fanning had a supporting role in Denzel’s The Equalizer 3. (This time, she played a CIA officer!)
