Landman Gets Permit For Season 3
Paramount Plus has officially given the green light for the Taylor Sheridan oil drama, Landman, to explore a third season. The show, which is currently in season two on the streamer, stars Billy Bob Thornton (pictured above) as an oil company executive who must prime the pumps while navigating Mexican cartels and a dysfunctional family. No word on when season three will debut.

Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black Is In the Pink
Netflix has given Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black a third and final season. The show stars an ensemble cast who plays a family controlling a high-profile beauty line. It’s unclear when season three will stream, but part two of season two is expected in March 2026. Click here to learn more.

Lena Dunham’s Too Much Was Too Much For Netflix
Netflix has axed Lena Dunham’s fish-out-of-water comedy, Too Much, after one season. The show, which starred Megan Stalter as a New Yorker who moves to London to find love, debuted last summer. Dunham said the comedy was based on her own experience meeting a British beau who later became her husband. Hopefully, life doesn’t intimate art for the Girls star/writer.

Netflix’s Boots Not Made For Walking (Any More)
Netflix has canceled the military comedy/drama, Boots, after one season. The show, created in part by the late Norman Lear, starred Miles Heizer as a closeted Marine in the 1990s when being a gay in the armed forces was illegal. No word on why Boots was axed; the show had a 90 score at Rotten Tomatoes. Click here to learn more about the show.

HBO: Task Is Up to the Task
HBO has renewed the Mark Ruffalo detective drama, Task, for a second season. The first season, which ended in October, featured Ruffalo as the head of a Pennsylvania-based FBI task force investigating a series of home robberies. Ruffalo has agreed to return for season two which does not have a debut date yet.

Chad Powers Scores Second Season at Hulu
Chad Powers, the comedy series starring Glen Powell as a disgraced pro QB who dons a disguise to play college ball, has scored a second season at Hulu. Based loosely on a real-life prank by former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, Chad Powers’ season one ended in October. No word on when season two will stream.
