Peacock plans to remove 24 movies from its streaming lineup after October 31, 2024. Here’s the three you should definitely watch before they leave, in my humble opinion.

Friday Night Lights (2004)
The TV show starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton gets all the love, but the original 2004 movie starring Billy Bob Thornton as a Texas high school football coach in mythical Dillon, Texas is just as good. (And guess who plays his wife? That’s right. Connie Britton.) Peter Berg, the showrunner for the TV show, directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay.

Office Space (1999)
Ron Livingston stars as a ‘quiet quitting’ employee before the term was invented in this flawless 1999 satirical comedy from director/writer Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead). The film, which also stars Gary Cole as Livingston’s insufferable and overbearing boss, captures the insanity of the corporate workspace, including meetings without meaning and the inexorable success of the least competent. Jennifer Aniston joins the supporting cast as a waitress who doesn’t have enough ‘flair’ to succeed. Funny film!

The Big Short (2015)
And speaking of workplace comedy, albeit it the black kind, The Big Short chronicles how the real estate bubble and Wall Street shenanigans triggered the financial crisis in 2008. The fantastic ensemble cast includes Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Jeremy Strong. Adam McKay directs and was the co-writer. Sharp, insightful and damn funny.
