Netflix, Apple TV, Disney Plus & HBO Max Add 13 New Releases Today – Here Are the 5 to Watch

Netflix, Apple TV, HBO Max, Disney Plus and Amazon’s Prime Video are adding 13 new shows and movies today (December 12, 2025). Here are the five to watch, in my humble opinion:

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery – Netflix
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m.
Daniel Craig is back as the determined detective, Benoit Blanc, in this third installment of the Netflix original Knives Out mystery series. In Wake Up Dead Man, Blanc investigates the stabbing death of a headstrong priest (Josh Brolin) with the assistance of the main suspect! If you didn’t see the first two Knives Out movies, I would encourage you to do so; they are sheer fun with delightful, sometimes over-the-top, performances from the stars including Craig. (The first two films are still on Netflix.) But if you just want to watch number three, Wake Up Dead Man is a standalone sequel; you don’t need to know the facts of the previous two to enjoy this one. So, enjoy! The talent-packed ensemble cast also includes Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Jeffrey Wright, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner and Kerry Washington.

FI The Movie – Apple TV
Release Date: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Talk about synergy. Apple TV, which recently captured the exclusive TV rights to F1 races starting in 2026, today is bringing its F1 movie starring Brad Pitt to subscribers. The film stars Pitt as a retired driver who returns to rescue a failing F1 team. I haven’t seen it yet but the reviews were strong and Apple TV plans to stream it in 4K and with Dolby Atmos sound so it should look and sound fantastic.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour/Final Show – Premiere – Disney Plus
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Oh my, how the Disney+ sub numbers will jump today. The streamer is premiering (exclusively) the final concert in Taylor Swift’s massively successful Eras tour. Filmed in Vancouver, the Disney+ show will include the complete concert, including a set from Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department album.

And we’re not done, Swifties. Disney+ is also debuting a six-part docuseries on the tour with the first two episodes running today.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (2025) & This Is Spinal Tap (1984) – HBO Max
Release Time: Today, 3 a.m. ET
Get ready to turn your speakers up to 11 because HBO Max today is doubling-down on the greatest living fictitious band ever, Spinal Tap. The new installment, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, features the merry lads (Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Michael McKean) as they are forced to perform one last show due to an overlooked contract clause from 40 years before. Also today: HBO Max will is adding the original Rob Reiner-directed mockumentary from 1984, This Is Spinal Tap.
