DIRECTV Adds New Sports Channel, 2 Others to MyFree DIRECTV

DIRECTV today added three more free channels to its MyFree DIRECTV lineup, including a new sports channel.

The three new channels are: Sports Illustrated’s SI TV, which offers original programming, features and sports stories from the iconic publication; Gunpowder & Sky’s CUT, an unscripted viral video channel; and Imagicomm Entertainment’s WesternBound, which features stories of bravery and adventure via the ‘Cowboy Code.’

With the addition of SI TV, DIRECTV now has more than 30 sports channels in the MyFree DIRECTV lineup. In recent weeks, DIRECTV has also added Billard TV, All Women’s Sports and Wired2Fish. Other free sports channels include Fox Sports, NBC Sports NOW, and ESPN8: The Ocho.

MyFree DIRECTV, which is available to both DIRECTV subscribers and non-DIRECTV consumers, now includes more than 110 live channels and on-demand programming. You can watch the free channels by creating a DIRECTV account at DIRECTV.com and then going to the DIRECTV Stream app or this web page.

DIRECTV is hoping that MyFree DIRECTV will generate additional advertising revenue as well as attract potential customers who might subscribe to the pay TV service after coming to its site/app.
