NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, CW, PBS Adding 16 Shows Tonight: The 3 to Watch
By Phillip Swann
The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
NBC, Fox, CW, CBS, PBS and ABC tonight (March 3, 2026) will add 16 new shows to their lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion. (All Times Eastern.)
Best Medicine (New Episode)
Where to Watch: Fox
When to Watch: 8 p.m.
Who’s In It: Josh Charles, Annie Potts, Abigail Spencer
Josh Charles stars as Dr. Martin Best, a brilliant Boston doctor (there are only brilliant doctors in primetime TV) who moves to a small fishing village in Maine where comic hijinks and poignant pauses soon ensue. Charles (The Good Wife) is an amiable and amusing presence in this ‘fish out of water’ tale, if you’ll forgive the pun. In tonight’s new episode, Martin Clunes, the original star of the British Doc Martin, which was the inspiration for Best Medicine, guest stars as Dr. Best’s father.
RJ Decker (Series Premiere)
Where to Watch: ABC
When to Watch 10 p.m.
What Kind of Show: Drama/Comedy
Who’s In It: Scott Speedman, Jaina Lee Ortiz
Scott Speedman (Underworld, Grey’s Anatomy) stars as a disgraced journalist (and ex-convict; not sure which is worse) who attempts a life rebound as a private investigator in South Florida. The new ABC show has all the earmarks of being written by someone who watched a lot of 1970s/1980s network TV. Handsome guy with checkered past solves cases the police won’t touch in beach community populated by beautiful bikini-clad women. (Magnum PI, Rockford Files, etc.) Who knows? Maybe it’s an idea whose time has come…again. We’ll see starting tonight. (Featured image of Speedman from the premiere episode.)
NBA Basketball: San Antonio at Philadelphia
Where to Watch: NBC
When to Watch: 8 p.m.
What Kind of Show: Hoops
Who’s In It: Tyrese Maxey, Victor Wembanyama
If you’ve never watched San Antonio’s 7’4” Victor Wembanyama, do tune in. He’s one of the most exciting and versatile players to come in the league in years, scoring 23.7 points a game with 11.2 rebounds and displaying ball skills of someone a foot shorter. Philadelphia is led by Tyrese Maxey who’s pumping in 29.1 points a game.
