Two days before the first Sunday of regular season games, YouTube today has started allowing football fans to get the NFL Sunday Ticket for only one month at a time. The monthly price is $85.
The streamer says at the Sunday Ticket site that the $85 monthly price is only available to new users. However, as a returning subscriber, I was offered that price when I attempted to order. So if you are a returning Ticket subscriber, you should give it a try. YouTube has previously said returning subscribers would have to pay $115 for one month with YouTube TV and $145 without the live streaming service.
The full season rate for the Sunday Ticket is $276 for new users who subscribe to YouTube TV or get the football package separately at YouTube Primetime Channels. Returning subscribers must pay $378 for the Ticket if they have YouTube TV or $480 if they buy it via YouTube Primetime Channels. (See our article on how you might get a discount if you are a returning subscriber.)
The new monthly option could appeal to cost-conscious fans who want to watch select games or a particular portion of the season such as the final month’s playoff drive.
The terms of agreement say you will be billed for the second month if you don’t cancel prior to the end of your one month subscription.
The NFL Sunday Ticket, which is an exclusive on YouTube and YouTube TV, offers all out-of-market Sunday afternoon games during the regular season. Out of markets means games that are not available on your local channels.
In related news, YouTube TV is now offering the first two months of service for $49.99 a month, a $66 discount over that time period.
