Peacock, the streaming service operated by NBCUniversal, plans to add 140 new TV shows and movies to its lineup in January 2025. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (Peacock Original)
Colin Firth stars in this retelling of Dr. Jim Swire’s crusade to discover the truth behind the bombing of a 1988 Pan Am plane during a flight from London to New York, taking the lives of the 259 passengers including his daughter. Despite diplomatic cover-ups, Swire and other family members of those killed forced authorities to eventually trace the horrific act to the Libyan government. This five-episode Peacock original series chronicles their persistence and heroism in finding the truth. All five episodes debut January 2.

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night (Peacock Original)
In honor of Saturday Night Live’s 5oth anniversary this year (1975-2025), Peacock will roll out this four-part docuseries on the variety show with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with past and current cast members and writers. Since NBC owns SNL, and Peacock, don’t expect the doc to dish the dirt, but the old clips of show highlights and cast auditions makes it must-see TV, to coin a phrase. All four episodes debut on January 16.

Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy (Peacock Original)
The title may sound a bit flippant considering this ‘bad boy’ is accused of unspeakable sexual crimes. (“Bad guy” might have been more appropriate). But the Peacock doc says it will explain how Sean Combs, aka Diddy, transformed from a choirboy in an all-boys Catholic school into a rap mogul and then again into a ruthless criminal (alleged, of course.) Debuts January 14
