August 26-September 1: Hulu to Add 61 New Titles – Here’s the 3 to Watch

Hulu this week (August 26-September 1, 2024) plans to add 61 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Only Murders In the Building, Season 4 Premiere
Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are back solving true crimes, this time the mysterious death of Charles’ stunt double, played by Jane Lynch. The supporting cast will include Meryl Streep, who’s returning after a triumphant tour de force in season three, and Eva Longoria, who will play a heightened version of herself. (Wait, I thought she did that in real life.) Only Murders In the Building, a Hulu original, is wacky, inventive and a great showcase for two comic legends (Martin and Short) who prove here you’re never too old to be funny. Premieres Tuesday, August 27.

After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun (Hulu Original Documentary)
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two decades that Baywatch ruled the TV airwaves with disposable but delicious tales of beautiful lifeguards patrolling the beaches of sunny Southern California. But it has and now the stars (Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, David Hasselhoff, Billy Warlock, Michael Berk, Erika Eleniak, among others) are ready to spill their no-longer six-pack guts about what happened behind the scenes. The doc will also include what the producers say is a never-before-seen interview with Pamela Anderson, which apparently means she didn’t participate in this show. Premieres Wednesday, August 28.

Die Hard (1988)
Bruce Willis plays the smirking New York cop combatting a terrorist takeover of his wife’s office building in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. The film, directed with perfection by John McTiernan, redefined the action genre and made Willis an A-List star. Alan Rickman nearly steals the picture as the evil, acid-tongued terrorist boss. Premieres Sunday, September 1. (Hulu will also add Die Hard 2, Live Free or Die Hard, and Die Hard With a Vengeance on September 1.)
