DIRECTV to Use AI to Deliver More Ads, Interactivity
DIRECTV is partnering with AI (Artificial Intelligence) company Glance to replace your TV’s screensaver with personalized ads and interactive shopping options. “Glance AI unlocks a new two-way relationship between TV watchers and their idle screens,” said Naveen Tewari, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Glance. “Whether it’s sparking creativity in a family room using Glance’s AI looks on TV, or creating an AI feed of your favorite sports leagues, or helping your kids discover their next dream vacation, Glance AI makes it all come alive.” DIRECTV says you can expect the initiative to begin on Gemini streaming devices in early 2026. DIRECTV Adds 2 Free Channels to MyFree DIRECTV
DIRECTV has added BBC News and the Car Chase Channel to its MyFree DIRECTV lineup which now has more than 110 free channels, according to . CordCuttersNews.com, The TV provider hopes the free streaming service, which is available to DIRECTV subscribers and non-subscribers, will generate additional advertising to bolster its paid customer numbers.
DIRECTV Exempt From Video Fees In Missouri
A Missouri state appeals court has ruled that DIRECTV, Dish and Sling TV do not have to pay video service providers fees in the state because the panel said the law never required it in the first place. The TV providers appealed legislation to require the fees, saying it would force them to raise subscriber rates in Missouri. To learn more, click here.

DIRECTV Offers Spotify On Gemini Devices
Spotify is one of the world’s most popular streaming services for music, podcasts and audio books, among other listening features. And now you can download the Spotify app and listen for free on DIRECTV’s Gemini devices for streaming customers. Here’s how to do it:
- Press the APPS button on your Gemini Voice remote.
- Select Get more apps on Google Play Store.
- Sign into your Google account. If you’re already signed in, you won’t have to do it again.
- Search for Spotify and download it.
