TV Answer Man, are the Roku and Apple TV Plus baseball games done for the season? I started watching them and was surprised that they actually are pretty good. – Robbie, Pontiac, Michigan.
Robbie, Apple TV+ this year continued its coverage of Major League Baseball with exclusive doubleheader games on Fridays, usually at night, while Roku this year again offered its exclusive free Sunday streams of MLB games, usually in late morning.
Well, Roku’s schedule is done for the season; the device maker’s last game was last Sunday’s Mariners-Braves contest.
However, Apple TV+, which costs $12.99 a month with a seven-day free trial, has two more doubleheaders scheduled: The Yankees visit the Red Sox this Friday (September 12) at 7:10 p.m. ET and the Los Angeles Angels visit the Seattle Mariners at 10:10 p.m. ET.
Then, on September 19, Apple TV+ will show the Kansas City-Toronto game at 7:40 p.m. ET and the Giants-Dodgers game at 10:10 p.m. ET.
On September 26, Apple TV+ will close its 2025 coverage with a single game: Detroit at Boston at 7:10 p.m. ET.
It’s unclear if either Apple or Roku will continue to offer MLB games after this season with multiple reports casting doubt on the possibility. The ratings for the exclusive games have never been revealed but are believed to be relatively small, particularly when you consider the cost of acquiring the rights.
Robbie, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
