Sling TV has launched a $19.99 a month 12-channel Select plan to complement its base $45.99 a month 30-channel Orange and 40-channel Blue packages.

The Select plan, which is aimed at cord cutters who have switched to less expensive VOD streamers such as Netflix, includes Fox News, National Geographic, GRIT, NFL Network, FX, FS1, METV, Game Show Network, Heroes & Icons, Lifetime Movie Network and Vice.

The package also includes live 4K sports programming from Fox and FS1, which makes it the least expensive way to get live 4K from Fox.

In select markets, Select subscribers will receive the local network affiliate stations from ABC, NBC and Fox. The local channel access requires $5 a month fee in markets where one or two local channels are available and a $10 per month fee if all three locals are available.

“Sling Select is perfect for customers who want a streamlined, cost-effective way to enjoy the channels they love,” Seth Van Sickel, senior vice president of product and operations for Sling TV, said in a press release. “With the freedom to choose what you watch and how much you pay, Sling continues to lead the way in TV that works for real people.”

Sling TV earlier this month launched a $4.99 a month ‘Day Pass,’ enabling TV viewers to watch the streaming service for a single day without any further obligation.

The short-term initiative, which also includes a $9.99 Weekend Pass and a $14.99 Week Pass, is aimed at viewers looking to watch a big sporting event or prestige TV show without having to purchase a monthly subscription.
