Netflix to Remove 22 Movies In 3 Days – Here Are the 3 to Watch Before They Leave

Netflix plans to remove 22 movies from its streaming lineup after July 31, 2025. Here are the three to watch before they leave, in my humble opinion.

Field of Dreams (1989)
The fantasy sports film stars Kevin Costner as a struggling Iowa farmer who’s summoned by the ghosts of the game to build a baseball field on his property. Only prime Costner (or maybe Tom Hanks) could have pulled this premise off, but it’s a great and tearjerking movie about baseball, family and the power of nostalgia. And you don’t have to be a baseball fan to love this sweet-hearted film. Special attention should be paid to James Earl Jones as a JD Salinger-like reclusive author who tags along with Costner on his journey. His speech about the lore of baseball has been recited thousands of times over the years and few could give it better than JEJ.

Psycho (1960)
Janet Leigh stars in this Alfred Hitchcock master work as a bank employee whose mundane life turns upside down when she decides to steal $40,000 from the bank. Filmmakers have tried to recreate the magic of Hitchcock over the years but there’s only one Psycho and it still chills your inner workings with the best jump scares ever put on screen. Anthony Perkins is awesome as the candy corn munching hotel clerk who befriends (in his own way) Leigh’s Marion. Hitchcock fans, take note that The Birds will also be removed in three days.

The Town (2010)
The absorbing 2010 heist drama starring Ben Affleck (who also directed and co-wrote and pictured above with co-star Jeremy Renner) as a bank robber who courts a beautiful witness (Rebecca Hall) while protecting her from a fellow gang member. Affleck shines here as both star and director, the latter status for which he deserves far greater recognition.
