Amazon’s Prime Video to Remove 40 Movies In 3 Days – Here Are the 3 to Watch Before They Leave

Amazon’s Prime Video plans to remove 40 movies from its streaming lineup after July 31, 2025. Here are the three to watch before they leave, in my humble opinion.
Moneyball (2011)
Brad Pitt (pictured above) stars as Oakland Athletics GM Billy Beane who uses modern analytics to assemble a playoff team on a shoestring budget. Based on Michael Lewis’ book, the movie glosses over some of the real reasons why the A’s made it to the playoffs (the team had one of the best trio of starters in the game: Tim Hudson, Barry Zito and Mark Mulder) but Pitt wins the day with a real movie star performance. You root for him from beginning to end as he schools the old school crowd.
The Hurt Locker (2008)
The brilliant 2008 Iraqi war drama stars Jeremy Renner as a munitions specialist who’s ready to blow. There have been many films that strive to show the horrors of war after the soldier comes home but few have done it better than The Hurt Locker. Renner’s character becomes addicted to war’s adrenaline rush and is never able to live normally again. It’s a great performance.
Lenny (1974)
Dustin Hoffman stars as the foul-mouthed and drug addled comedian Lenny Bruce who died a martyr’s life for his courageous commentaries on the cultural changes sweeping the United States in the 1960s. Hoffman was not the ideal choice to play Bruce (too nebbish, one might say) but he gives it his all and director Bob Fosse does a splendid job of capturing the chaotic times. Valerie Perrine is also good as Bruce’s sad sack girlfriend.
