Peacock to Stream Exclusive NFL Game In 2025

NBCUniversal and the NFL announced today that Peacock will carry an exclusive regular season game on December 27, 2027, week 17 of the season.

The announcement is more evidence of the NFL’s slow but sure shift from legacy TV to streaming. While the vast majority of games, regular season and playoffs, remain on CBS, NBC, Fox and Disney networks, streamers Amazon, Netflix and Peacock now offer some games as exclusives. In addition, Google’s YouTube services are the exclusive carrier of the prestigious NFL Sunday Ticket’s package of out-of-market games.

The league did not reveal the matchup of the Peacock game in its announcement today. As part of the NFL’s flexible scheduling policy, league officials can wait until the week of the game before deciding to ensure that a high-profile game such as the Peacock contest will have some bearing on the playoff race.

While Peacock will stream the game as a national exclusive, local NBC stations will also broadcast it in the team’s local markets.

In other NBC/Peacock sports news, the network announced today that Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan will be a special contributor to its NBA broadcasts which begin this October. The games will be available on NBC and Peacock.

Peacock will livestream exclusive national Monday night NBA games each week while NBC and Peacock will present national coverage of regional doubleheader games on Tuesday nights. In early 2026, NBC and Peacock will launch Sunday Night Basketball which will replace Sunday Night Football in the 7 p.m. ET time slot.
