Peacock to Add 22 New Releases This Week – Here Are the 3 to Watch

Peacock this week (May 12-18, 2025) plans to add 22 new shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:
The 4 John Wick Movies (Counted as one)
Keanu Reeves stars as the retired hit man who returns to the killing fields when Russian mobsters do away with a loved one (no, spoilers here). The four John Wick films may be short on originality, but they breathe new life in the vengeance genre thanks to Reeves’ charisma and athleticism. The Matrix star still has all the moves, and they are in frequent display here.
Poker Face, Season 2
Release Date: Episode four, May 15
Natasha Lyonne stars in this Peacock original comedy/drama about a former casino employee who’s basically a human lie detector; she can spot someone lying lickety split. And using her unique skills, she’s able to solve a murder mystery in 60 minutes or less. Call it a modern day Columbo, Poker Face is a delight thanks to Lyonne’s charming performance, an exceptional lineup of guest stars, and show creator Rian Johnson‘s clever crafting. Season two will include appearances from Awkwafina, Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Gaby Hoffmann, BJ Novak, Carol Kane, Melanie Lynskey, David Alan Grier and the great Margo Martindale, among others. Season one is now available on Peacock. Season two debuted on May 8 with the first three episodes. Episode four will premiere on Thursday, May 15.
The Preakness
Release Date: Saturday, May 17
Journalism, who was upset in the Kentucky Derby by Sovereignty, will run for redemption in the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes, the second jewel in horse racing’s Triple Crown. Sovereignty’s owners, alas, have decided to skip the Preakness but Journalism, who finished second in the Derby, will likely be challenged here by Sandman and Goal Oriented in the 1 and 3/16 mile race. Post time is approximately 6:50 p.m. ET with coverage on Peacock starting at 2 p.m. ET.
