Hulu to Add 144 New Titles In August 2024 – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Hulu next month (August 2024) plans to add 144 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Only Murders In the Building, Season 4 Premiere
Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are back solving true crimes, this time the mysterious death of Charles’ stunt double, played by Jane Lynch. The supporting cast will include Meryl Streep, who’s returning after a triumphant tour de force in season three, and Eva Longoria, who will play a heightened version of herself. (Wait, I thought she did that in real life.) Only Murders In the Building, a Hulu original, is wacky, inventive and a great showcase for two comic legends (Martin and Short) who prove here you’re never too old to be funny. Premieres August 27.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
Hollywood this year decided to reboot the old ‘apes in control’ franchise and — surprise, surprise — it worked! Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which was released in May 2024, has grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. The film tells the story of a young chimp named Noa (played by Owen Teague) who discovers that a band of hunters are coming for his clan with electronic weapons. He must alert his clan and rival groups before it’s too late. The plot is predictable, but the critics praised Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes for its non-stop action and moral undertones. Debuts August 2.

After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun (Hulu Original Documentary)
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two decades that Baywatch ruled the TV airwaves with disposable but delicious tales of beautiful lifeguards patrolling the beaches of sunny Southern California. But it has and now the stars (Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, David Hasselhoff, Billy Warlock, Michael Berk, Erika Eleniak, among others) are ready to spill their no-longer six-pack guts about what happened behind the scenes. The doc will also include what the producers say is a never-before-seen interview with Pamela Anderson, which apparently means she didn’t participate in this show.
