April 14-20: 15 New Hulu Releases This Week – Here’s the One to Watch

Hulu this week (April 14-20, 2025) plans to add 15 new releases to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the one you should definitely watch, in my humble opinion.

Lake George (2024)
Release Date: April 15
Do you like neo noir films? Then Lake George is for you. The 2024 crime thriller directed by Jeffrey Reiner stars Shea Whigham as Don, a recent parolee who plots to collect a debt from a gangster named Armen (Glenn Fleshler). But Armen turns the tables on Don by requiring he rub out his girlfriend (Carrie Coon) before he will pay up. The plot thickens when Don decides to double cross Armen with the girlfriend’s help. Lake George is a juicy throwback to the great noir films of the 1940s with a slew of fun performances, particularly from Whigham and Coon (The White Lotus, season three). Stir your favorite martini, don that fedora and settle in for 108 minutes of high-stakes mystery.

What Is Hulu?
Hulu has both a multichannel live streaming service, called Hulu Live, and a subscription Video on Demand service just called Hulu. The latter’s cheapest plan, which includes ads, costs $9.99 a month. The no-ads version is $18.99 a month. Hulu’s VOD lineup, which is also included with the Hulu Live subscription, consists of original programming such as Paradise, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Dropout, and licensed shows and movies from a variety of networks. Hulu Live’s price is $82.99 and it also includes Hulu’s VOD service with ads, and ESPN Plus and Disney Plus, also both with ads.
